Our Research
Studies of Inter-annual Variability, El NiƱo-Southern Oscillation and Tropical Convection
Two of the largest uncertainties in making climate projections for Singapore and for Southeast Asia are the limitations in our understanding of tropical convection and limitations in our ability to realistically simulate tropical convection in global climate models.
SINGV – The Convective-Scale Numerical Weather Prediction System for Singapore
SINGV (“Singapore Variable resolution model”) aims to provide improved weather forecasts for Singapore and the surrounding region, with a focus on short-range prediction of localised heavy rainfall.
