Dr CHEW Boon Ning

Dr Chew Boon Ning is an atmospheric scientist who focuses on the biomass burning smoke phenomena in Southeast Asia. He has contributed to the understanding of regional biomass burning regimes, conducted atmospheric transport and dispersion modelling of smoke haze events, and model validations against ground- and satellite-based remote sensing observations. Through the course of his research work, he has been involved in several aerosol and air quality field campaigns in Southeast Asia, and also in Singapore’s emergency response to the 2015 transboundary smoke haze episode.
