Dr Hindumathi PALANISAMY
Dr Hindumathi Palanisamy’s research interests include estimating sea level changes at global and regional scales, identifying its causes, variability at different temporal resolutions. Her past works have focused on estimating long term coastal sea level variations in the tropical regions such as the Indian Ocean, South China Sea and Caribbean Sea and explaining regional sea level variability with respect to ocean dynamics, internal climate modes and anthropogenic fingerprint in the tropical Pacific. Before joining CCRS, she was involved in the European Space Agency’s Sea Level Budget Closure project focusing on global mean sea level budget closure. Her current research at CCRS will focus on estimating and understanding the mechanisms of recent past, present and future regional/local sea level changes in South East Asia as part of CCRS’ contribution to the National Sea Level Programme.
