Dr Tao SUN
Dr Tao Sun is currently working on the convective-scale data assimilation (DA) for the next-generation JEDI-based DA system under development at CCRS. With over 10 years of research experience in data assimilation, Dr Sun has developed deep expertise in convective-scale DA techniques. During his working at Center for Analysis and Prediction of Storms (CAPS) and National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), he gained extensive experience working with JEDI-based DA frameworks, including FV3-JEDI and MPAS-JEDI. Dr Sun is particularly skilled in assimilating a diverse range of observations critical for convective-scale DA, including satellite radiances and radar data.
