Mr Chen SCHWARTZ
Mr Chen Schwartz is part of the Seasonal & Subseasonal Prediction Branch. His work in CCRS involves development and distribution of seasonal and subseasonal forecasts for Singapore and Southeast Asia (SEA). His research work involves the potential improvement of the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO)-related rainfall predictability in SEA and the Maritime Continent.
His previous work focused on tropical-extratropical teleconnections. More specifically, he focused on the pathways and mechanisms by which tropical convection affects the extratropical weather on subseasonal timescales, and how these are represented in subseasonal operational forecasting models.
