Dr Paromita CHAKRABORTY

Dr Paromita Chakraborty has been working for last 10 years in the field of numerical weather prediction using ensemble methods. She also has expertise in tropical cyclone track and intensity prediction and associated storm surges modeling. She has worked as a project scientist at NCMRWF in the numerical modelling of weather and climate project undertaking operational generation and monitoring of tailored ensemble forecast products for national weather services and stakeholders. Dr Paromita has accomplished her PhD from Banaras Hindu University in assessing the medium range weather forecasts of south-west monsoon and extreme events using unified model based ensemble prediction system. She has been a life member of India Meteorological society.
